Paola Mata, Immigration and Criminal Legal Assistant
Paola Mata is an Immigration and Criminal Legal Assistant, as well as the Social Media Manager at Adelayo Law Firm.
Born and raised in Phoenix, Arizona, Paola graduated Magna Cum Laude from Arizona State University with a BA in Philosophy (Morality, Politics, and Law) and Political Science, along with a Minor in Spanish. During her time at ASU, she distinguished herself as a Philosophy Grader, appointed by one of her professors, and was actively involved in the Undergraduate Law Society, Philosophy Club, and Kappa Alpha Theta. Inspired by her parents' immigration journey, Paola knew early on that she wanted to pursue a career in law. At Adelayo Law Firm, she plays a key role in supporting both immigration and criminal cases. As a first-generation American, Paola feels a strong connection to clients navigating their immigration journeys. In her role as a Criminal Legal Assistant, she works closely with the attorney on jury trials, conducting research, and assisting with legal writing. Her fluency in Spanish enables her to connect deeply with clients and provide essential support as they navigate complex legal challenges. Post graduation, Paola is gaining valuable experience at the firm while applying to law school, with the goal of furthering her legal career. In her spare time, she enjoys traveling, reading, attending concerts, practicing yoga and spending quality time with friends, family and her cat Zuko.
