Bamidele Adelayo, 'Bami,' is the Principal Attorney at Adelayo Law Firm, licensed to practice in Arizona, Illinois, New Jersey, and Minnesota.
An experienced Immigration and Criminal Defense attorney, Bami has a deep passion for representing immigrants and criminal defendants. Growing up in the southwestern part of Nigeria, Bami speaks Yoruba and earned his bachelor’s degree (LLB) from Olabisi Onabanjo University (formerly Ogun State University). He then obtained two law degrees from Washington University School of Law in St. Louis, Missouri: a Juris Doctor and an LLM with an emphasis on International Law. As an immigrant himself, Bami developed a strong interest in Immigration Law during his law school studies, which further expanded during his subsequent legal practice. Bami has significant experience as a defense attorney, having worked at the New Jersey State Public Defender’s Office, where he represented indigent clients charged with serious felonies. He also served as a prosecutor at the Will County State's Attorney’s Office in Illinois, which enriched his understanding of criminal practice from both the prosecution and defense perspectives. This dual experience enables him to empathize with families facing challenges from law enforcement, whether it involves the Immigration and Customs Enforcement Agency (ICE) or local, state, or federal law enforcement agencies. Bami brings a unique perspective to his practice and is dedicated to defending his clients. From the moment he takes on a case, he guarantees personal attention and involvement throughout the entire process, providing customized solutions tailored to each client’s needs. His commitment has resulted in significant successes for his clients, as he firmly believes in the principle of serving "one client at a time”. Outside of work, Bami enjoys spending time with his family, traveling, watching soccer, and learning Spanish. He is an ardent supporter of the Liverpool Football Club (LFC).
